Sibutramine is a centrally-acting serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) formerly used as an appetite suppressant for the treatment of obesity. Due to concerns over cardiovascular safety, it has been withdrawn from many markets and is not approved for use in most countries.
