Neostigmine is a reversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, used primarily in the management of myasthenia gravis, reversal of non-depolarizing neuromuscular blockade after surgery, and treatment of postoperative abdominal distention and urinary retention. It is an approved and widely used medication today.
