Doxycycline is a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections, acne, urinary tract infections, and certain sexually transmitted diseases. It is also used in malaria prophylaxis. Doxycycline is widely approved and used today.
