Labetalol in combination with diuretics (mainly thiazides) is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, especially when monotherapy is insufficient. Labetalol is a mixed alpha- and beta-adrenoceptor antagonist, and diuretics promote renal excretion of sodium and water.
