Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is an organosulfur compound that has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antioxidant properties. It has historically been used topically for the relief of pain and inflammation, particularly in interstitial cystitis and certain musculoskeletal disorders.
