Sulbenicillin is a semisynthetic, broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic formerly used for the treatment of severe bacterial infections, notably Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. Sulbenicillin is not widely marketed and is largely obsolete, replaced by newer penicillins and cephalosporins.
