Cefotetan is a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used primarily in the treatment of infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, and perioperative prophylaxis. It is administered parenterally and is approved for clinical use.
