Information

Fluorouracil (5-FU) is an antimetabolite chemotherapeutic agent that inhibits thymidylate synthase, disrupting DNA synthesis and repair, thereby exerting cytotoxic effects on rapidly dividing cancer cells.

Fluorouracil is widely used against gastrointestinal, breast, head and neck, and skin cancers, particularly effective for colorectal cancer.

PK of fluorouracil in humans administered IV. Modeled as 1-compartment model with Cl=84.6 l/h, Vd=18.66l, dose=250 mg from [1].
