Phenprobamate is a centrally acting muscle relaxant with anxiolytic and sedative properties. In combination with psycholeptics (such as antipsychotics or tranquilizers), it has been used historically for muscle relaxation, management of anxiety, and adjunctive treatment of certain psychiatric disorders.
