Carisoprodol is a centrally-acting skeletal muscle relaxant, historically used for the relief of discomfort associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. In combinations with psycholeptics (ATC code M03BA72), it is used for enhanced anxiolytic and sedative effects.
