Simulation sequence:
- t=0 s: The system starts at equilibrium, with the breaker closed. All the active power produced by the generator is consumed by the load, so there is zero power drawn from the grid.
- t=1 s: The torque (hence the power) is reduced by 20%; the corresponding amount of power is now drawn from the grid.
- t=3 s: The load is reduced by 10%, so the power drawn from the grid is now reduced to 10% of the nominal value.
- t=5 s: The breaker is opened. Since there is a deficit of 10% nominal power in the formed island, the frequency starts decreasing with
a rate of 10% for each acceleration time Ta=10 s, i.e., by 1%/s, or 0.5 Hz/s.
