## Copyright © EDF 2002 - 2025 ## ThermoSysPro Version 4.2 Machines The multifluids machines modeled are CHP (Combined Heat and Power) as well as internal combustion engines. The internal combustion engine (or alternating engine) is a classical motor, using fuel to produce mechanical energy. The CHP engine functions similarly but is more efficient, as the heat produced by the fuel combustion is reused. For a better understanding of the underlying physics, see Chap. 15 of :cite:`el19`.
