This is a controller to control the hydrogen recycle mass flow rate for a steam methane reformer to ensure a given molar hydrogen to methane ratio at the inlet of the steam methane reformer.
The composition and mass flow rate of the feed are measured and the necessary hydrogen mass flow rate is calculated depending on the expected reactions in the prereformer.
The validity is limited because the composition is measured ideally and continuously which is not possible in reality.
m_flow_feed: input for the feed mass flow rate in [kg/s]
xi: input for the mass fractions of the feed [kg/kg]
m_flow_hydrogen_recycle: output for the hydrogen mass flow rate (positive sign) [kg/s]
(no remarks)
The hydrogen mass flow rate is calculated under consideration of the hydrogen and methane that will be produced out of C2H6, C3H8 and C4H10 and the desired hydrogen to methane molar ratio.
