Information

1. Purpose of model

This is a model to calculate varying pressures for electrolyzer dynamics.

2. Level of detail, physical effects considered, and physical insight

Pressure is modeled using empirical expression for H2O partial pressure and Dalton's Law of partial pressures for O2 and H2. Dependent on operating temperature T_op, cathode and anode side storage tank pressures.

3. Limits of validity

Original model developed and validated in the range of 20-60 °C with operating H2 and O2 tank pressure of 15-35 bar.

4. Interfaces

(no remarks)

5. Nomenclature

(no elements)

6. Governing Equations

Pressure is modeled according to Espinosa-López et al 2018 empirical expression for H2O partial pressure and Dalton's Law of partial pressures for O2 and H2. Cathode and anode pressures are defined as constants with a negative 1 bar gradient (i.e. if cathode at 30bar then anode at 29bar).

7. Remarks for Usage

(no remarks)

8. Validation

Results have been validated against Espinosa-López et al 2018 published figures.
