Information

This model represents a coal loading operation from the coal storage into barges. This model has been simplified from the one described in the book Simulation with Arena in order to allow a better understanding, but it can be easily adapted to the description in the book.

In this model, the coal facility has one (instead of four) dock where the barges are tied to start the loading operation. Once the barge is tied to the dock, it begins being loaded at fixed rate (2400). Different barges may have different capacities.
When the capacity of the barge is reached, the loading operation stops and the barge leaves the dock. If another barge is waiting, it is then tied to the dock and the operation restarts.

Notice that this model combines the Create block of the SIMANLib library with the modules of ARENALib.
